Oh, hey! What's shakin'? :D Check this out, brah. I'm stoked to show off my new vintage shortalls! I couldn't believe my eyes when I thrifted them. It was love at first sight. The longer shorts, big chest pocket and odd straps were a dead giveaway, but I looked up the label on my phone just to be sure.
My quick internet search revealed that this little number is likely from the early 90s. It actually has a kind of nostalgic look and feel to it. It's my first pair of shortalls and so obviously it is my favorite. :D
I've never worn overalls or shortalls before until now. I know! I'm weird. You wouldn't believe the number of things I haven't consumed, worn or taken part in that most "normal" people have already experienced. Hell, I don't think I had root beer until a few years ago. I'm just a sweet, sweet anomaly. :P
So, I was trying to figure out just how the heck to wear these without looking like some boring country bumpkin. Haha. I opted for a suit jacket that I've had for almost 10 years. As you can see, the jacket looks like new for being a decade old. Anyway, I don't think you're supposed to wear suit jackets with overalls. Haha. So, of course I just had to do it. I'm sure I'm upsetting a ton of fashion gurus, right now.
My advice to the gurus: Take some Robitussin and sleep it off. You'll get over it. Hehe. :D
I added a super cute bicycle print t-shirt and some dried flowers I picked up from the farmer's market then finished the look with my favorite boots from UrbanOG. In so doing, I think I created something comfortable, fun and interesting (and maybe even a little bit perplexing haha). Mission accomplished!
