A Road Less Traveled

Hi! *^_^* I just wanted to show you guys one way to style this vintage plaid pinafore from my Etsy shop. It's actually a lot like overalls when you take into account the three-button closures at each side of the dress. So, that just makes it even more unique (at least to me, anyways hehe). The pinafore has two length adjustments. Here, I have it on the longest adjustment and it hits me at about mid-thigh. I'm 5'9" for reference! It also has two large and roomy front pockets, one of which I filled with a flower. :P

I think the pinafore is really easy to wear. ^_^ For this outfit, I did a comfortable mix of neutral colors and textures. The thrifted lace top and pearl necklace lent some additional vintage charm. I was going for something in-between dressy and casual, so the over-sized, slouchy cardigan helped to dilute the potential formality of the outfit. The dress is a subtle mix of green, black and white. It is 100% cotton; the material is sturdy and it has a nice overall weight (i.e. not too light/flimsy and not too heavy/bulky).

Whyyy are you selling this, you look so uber cute in it! The white blouse underneath makes everything so put together and just perfect, I love the little details you always put in your outfits ^_^

I totally want some over-the-knee-socks too - almost bought some before my ban! But as we're going into spring here, I thought they seemed better for autumn.

Yeah...I think I'm starting to get the hang of this whole being cute thing. Haha. I have some darker looks in the works with lots of layers and attitude and whatnot. I'm looking forward to scaring people, again. Haha. :D I've always like the OTK sock look. I don't know if it suits me, to be honest, but I'll keep doing it until it looks weird and then maybe I'll stop. Heh.

Congrats on your 2 years of blogging! That's quite an accomplishment and you're quite blog famous, girly! I love this dress and I find that it can be easily versatile through the seasons. With the socks, they can be fit for fall but with different accessories, it can be for warmer months too!
