Oh no, bros! It was snowing when these photos were taken, so I apologize in advance for the specks of white on my person. Hehe. If I had a nicer camera lens, I could have done some fancy shmancy effects, but oh well. >_< You'll see later on, but I'm wearing high waist shorts. Shorts in the winter? I know, f*cking crazy, right? Of course, you should know by now that I don't care about such things. I just do whatever I want. ;P Also, these denim bad boys are for sale, so I wanted to show off the fact that they can be styled for year round enjoyment! But first, let's start with what we can actually see, yeah?

On the whole, this outfit is very simple. I've got a patterned sweater tucked into my shorts and over that is a basic, but cozy oversized cardigan. I'm also sporting my new snowflake tights from Chicwish and some other basic accessories. The exciting bits are the splashes of bright color, textures and seasonal patterns. Oh and did I mention that two of the items I'm wearing are from my XMAS wish lists? Aww, yeah! Someone got lucky this year! Click here and here to see my lists of covetousness.

Also, can I just say that thermals are your friend. Seriously. Hehe. Underneath my sweater, I wore a thermal long sleeved top and then I layered another soft long sleeved top over that. You can't tell, but underneath my tights, I'm wearing thin thermal pants. The temperature was in the 30s also, so I felt great. That's the funny thing about when it snows. It's usually more temperate than when it's not snowing. Oh and that vent behind me was belting out hot steam, which I obviously didn't mind. :D

The black and white sweater is ModCloth's Black Box Theater Sweater. It's fantastic and I just had to have it as soon as I saw it. It's solid black in the back, by the way. You'll see what I mean in the side shot below. Beautiful design! The brand of the high waist denim shorts is 2.1 Denim and the size is 24. Much too small for me! The shorts can barely contain my hips. Hence they are for sale! I'm normally a size 27/28 in denim. Ugh. I love these shorts, too. They look so vintage. Click here for measurements!

I'm so happy to finally have an opportunity to wear these tights. I treated myself to them last XMAS. ^_^
The beautiful boots are from ModCloth. I snagged them during their Black Friday Sale. They're called the Buckle Downtown Bootie in Whiskey on the site and they sold out like hot cakes! O_o o_O

The spiked handbag is from ModCloth, also. It's called the Bright Companion Bag and it was available for 50% off during ModCloth's Treat Yourself Sale, but I ended up getting it as an XMAS gift from my mom. Thanks, mom! :3 She knows what I likes. <3 I wanted a blue bag forever! Very happy!

My thighs are the part of my body that I hate the most. I always feel super self conscious about them when I wear shorts. I started wearing shorts more often just last year! It took me a looong time to get the courage and still I opt for the full coverage and high waisted styles to try to be as modest as I can. So, I completely understand your trepidation! <3 I guess I just took one of the team here, since I'd really like these shorts to go to a better home! :P

I LOVE that sweater and it is paired in such a great way with the denim. Brave but stylish choice to go for shorts in snow :D

And the denim shorts are lovely, great color and combination with the brown booties. I love it as always :D I know I should be able to say something different every time I see an outfit of yours, but I can't help myself, I really love them all :D

You look amazing as always here, Anna! I especially love that styled your high-waisted shorts even in the winter. Funny enough, I've been tempted to wear mine for the past few weeks too! I usually wear two pairs of tights layered over each other with my skirts and shorts during the colder months, but hadn't thought of thermals yet. Definitely looking forward to being warm and cozy soon!

Rad! Yeah, I think it's totally possible to wear shorter garments in the Winter/Spring. You just have to know how to layer. I used to do the two pairs of tights thing, as well! Then I went to Target and bought some lightweight thermals (the kind designed to be worn under ski clothes - they reduce moisture and lock in heat) and I just wear those underneath my clothes now. It's not 100%, but it certainly makes it possible for me to mix up my style by wearing shorts and dresses out of season. :D <3
