This week is all about chill out, ambient and downtempo grooves. I'm starting things off with a pretty cerebral tune from The Troublemakers. It appears on their latest album, "Express Way" (2004).
The group consists of Fred Berthet, Arnaud Taillefer and Lionel Corsini. They met in Marseille in 1998. Not long after that meeting, they released their first EP, "Exodus" (2000) followed by the album, "Doubts & Convictions" (2001). Berthet subsequently left the group, leaving Taillefer and Corsini to produce the group's latest album to date, a one-hour film soundtrack called, "Express Way" (2004).
It looks like things pretty much drop off after 2004 for the group, which is a shame because The Troublemakers had so much to offer. Their appreciation of 60s/70s jazz and film scores created a unique and eclectic style. Their music is of a kind that you can enjoy until the end of your days.
