I'm leaving you with a fantastic chill out track from French house producers Gilbert Cohen and Nicolas Chaix of Chateau Flight. This is the second to last track on their debut album, "Puzzle" (2000). Cohen and Chaix have come a long way since then. Their two latest releases, "Kounka" (Aug. 2012) and "Cosmic Race/Instant Play" (Sep. 2012) are comparatively more abrasive and cerebral--two qualities I tend to appreciate in good music. The Cosmic Race track is pretty rad. Check it out below. First of all, you're welcome. Haha. :D Second, Happy Friday! This is the perfect track to get your weekend off to a great start. It's from Andy Riley and Laurence Ritchie's May 2004 EP, "Hands Up." If this doesn't make you sheggit shake, then I don't know what will. Listening to this track, I have to say...man, they just don't make house music like this anymore. It's so rare. What a fantastic tune. Nottingham, UK natives, Ritchie and Riley, are veteran house music producers, as they first met in 1993 while playing gigs with Smokescreen Soundsystem. As the Inland Knights, Ritchie and Riley have produced a slew of quality tunes since the late 90's. Their latest releases are the "High Horse" and "The Break Out" EPs of Fall 2012. Both EPs are just outstanding. This is Side A of the "High Horse" 12 inch. As you know, I'm not a huge fan of vocal house (with the exception of disco house). However, this track is well done, IMO. The vocals are well timed and appropriately sparse. For more tracks and downloads, check out Inland Knights' SoundCloud page! |
