Hey, guys! I'm taking a two week break starting today. Music posts will be back January 14!
Until then, enjoy this amazing track by Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White of THEESatisfaction.
I learned about these versatile artists very recently via an NPR article about ten underrated artists of the year, or something to that effect. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to add more esoteric artists to my already burgeoning repertoire, so I took a gander at the article and found these ladies.
As you may or may not know from my previous blog posts, I have quite a love affair with retro music with a Motown flair. So, it's no surprise that I am completely enamored with the above track. It's #5 from the group's October 2012 album, "THEESatisfaction Loves Anita Baker."
Prior to that, Irons and Harris-White released the "Awe Natural" album in March 2012. It's a collection of 13 tracks ranging anywhere between one minute to three and a half minutes. It reminds me of something that hip hop artist Knxwledge would put out in that the album is basically characterized by Adult Swim-esque bumps. Check out Track 13 from the album below.
It's pretty eclectic and chill. I dig it! Big thanks to NPR for this one. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on these gals. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and a great rest of the year! I'm looking forward to another great year of music! If you like what you've been hearing, today, and you'd like to hear some more, take a look at the group's SoundCloud page.
