Rejoice! The weekend is almost here! This is one of my favorite tracks, "Human Factor," by Spirit Catcher. It's from the group's latest album, "Partners In Crime" (2010). Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet of Belgium have been making music under the Spirit Catcher alias since 2003. The Partners in Crime album is rock solid, you guys! It's 11 tracks of deep, thoughtful, gritty, glitchy, bass thumpin' house music. It's my favorite album, so far.
The group released its debut album, "Night Vision" in 2007 and it was one hell of an introduction. Here's Track 3 from that album. If this track doesn't make you groove in your seat and make everyone around you look over and wonder wtf is wrong with you, then you have no soul. Haha.
I've noticed that Spirit Catcher seems to be on an electro funk kick, lately. Their last few releases in 2012 have had a palpable electro flare. To be fair, their music has had elements of disco/funk from the very beginning. Though, as of late, they seem to be giving in wholeheartedly to those elements.
That being said, the fact remains that everything they've produced thus far has been absolute gold. Check out their latest remix of Kruse & Nuernberg's "Last Chance," from September 2012.
