Today's track is a little bit darker than the previous ones. This is a remix of Solomun & Stimming's "Eiszauber" from the 2007 EP, "Feuer & Eis." It's pretty damn perfect! Give it a listen!
Mladen Solomun (Hamburg, Germany) and Martin Stimming (Giessen, Germany) are primarily solo producers, though they have been creating music together since as far back as 2006. Solomun released his first album, "Galaxy Empire" in 2005 and continued to steadily release singles, EPs and remixes through 2011. He made a name for himself in the underground house music scene, but it wasn't until 2012 that Solomun experienced a spike in popularity while playing in Ibiza.
Solomun received the Best Producer title at the Ibiza DJ Awards and earned the title of DJ of the Year from Mixmag Magazine. Solomun's latest collaboration with Stimming is the "Challenge Everyday" EP (Nov. 2011). You can listen to Solomun's contribution to the EP below. I love the palpable 80's flare.
Stimming, on the other hand, became interested in music at an early age, playing instruments like the violin, piano and drums when he was just 10 years old. At age 15, he discovered electronic music and a year later he became interested in techno. Stimming attended the School of Audio Engineering in Hamburg where he was determined to make music rather than simply mix records as a DJ. Stimming released the debut EP, "Vorsprung durch Technik" in 2006 and it has been full steam ahead ever since. His latest production is a remix of Pool's "Don't Call My Name" (2012) which you can hear below.
