Happy Friday! I figured I'd round off the week with a tech-house remix of a fantastic track by John Kowalski and Rian Trench of Solar Bears. It's Track 3 from their debut album, "She Was Coloured In" (2010). The group's tracks tend to have a palpable otherworldly flavor. Hence, it is no surprise that the band's name was inspired in part by Andrei Tarkovsky's science fiction film, "Solaris."
Born and raised in Ireland, Kowalski and Trench formed the band in early 2009. So, they're pretty new to the music scene. Kowalski and Trench met while attending college for sound engineering. Essentially, the band's sound is an eclectic mix of programming, synths and vintage tapes.
Kowalski and Trench released a second album this year called, "Supermigration," and it is a mix of ambient and downtempo. You can listen to Track 2 below. Oh and get ready for blast off! Hehe. :D
