Semakdji Mourad
Here's a track to get you ready for the fast approaching weekend. I'm so in love with this groove by Alex Santos, Semakdji Mourad & Emmanuel Kossi of Rodamaal. This track is from the group's June 2003 record entitled "Musica Feliz." It's incredibly chill. Give it a listen!
Unfortunately, Rodamaal hasn't released anything since 2006, although Semakdji Mourad is still an active DJ in France. Mourad's latest production is "The Crowd" EP (Feb. 2013) under the alias, Rocco. The EP consists of two tracks, "TBT3" and "Keep On Moving." You can hear a little bit of each below. I have to say, the second track is my favorite. It's reminiscent of classic, old school 90's jack house.
Mourad actively updates his Facebook and SoundCloud pages, so be sure to check those for his latest releases. He's a smooth operator that Mourad. I can't get enough of his live DJ mix from late January. You can hear the full mix below and you can download it from his SoundCloud page! Sweet!
