The weekend is just around the corner! You just gotta hold on a little bit longer! Here's a track that will make your day go by a hell of a lot faster. It's from Joe Faria and Matt Johnson of Nightriders, and it appears on their October 2010 EP, "Night Moves." This is disco house at its finest! :D
Originally from Boston, Johnson and Faria met in 2004 and quickly became friends. Not long after that, they started producing music under the Nightriders alias. As children of the 80's, their music is heavily influenced by artists such as Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones, as well as contemporary heavy weights like Basement Jaxx and Groove Armada. So, as you can imagine, each of Johnson and Faria's tracks feel like blasts from the past, but with a joyfully modern twist.
The duo put out their first album, "Take My Hand" in October 2009 and a number of singles and EPs followed. Johnson and Faria's latest release is a collaboration with Chris Lake called "NYC" from September 2011. If this doesn't make you groove in your seat, something is wrong with you! Haha.
If you like what you've been hearing, there's a new track on their SoundCloud page from late 2012, that you may want to check out! It'll be the best in disco house all week long, so come on back!
