Hello, lovelies! :D I'm doing yet another dubstep week. As you may or may not know, dubstep is a pretty new genre for me. I only have a handful of favorites right now, but I'm always looking for new talent. So, if you have suggestions for this genre or any other genre, just leave me a comment!
Today's track is one of my favorites from Mount Kimbie's 2009 EP, "Sketch on Glass." It was this EP that got me into Mount Kimbie. I heard it back in 2010 and have been stalking these guys since. Hehe.
Mount Kimbie is comprised of Dominic Maker and Kai Campos of London. Their music is characterized as post-dubstep, the progeny of 2-step. If you're curious about the history and transformation of the 2-step genre click here (my previous post about 2-step legend Oris Jay).
Maker and Campos teamed up to produce music back in 2008. Just two years later, they released their first album "Crooks & Lovers," and it was a hit. Since 2008, Maker and Campos produced numerous EPs, singles and remixes. Their latest single is "Made to Stray" from March 2013. It will appear on Mount Kimbie's second album, "Cold Spring Fault Less Youth" which comes out today! :D
