So happy to bring this amazing track to you guys on this kick ass Friday! Hey, it's the weekend, baby!
This week you've heard fantastic dubstep from Machinedrum, Kuedo, Boxcutter and Phaeleh. I've been acquainted with their music for quite a while, so sharing their tunes with you all was a no-brainer.
My list of dubstep favorites is quite small, however, as I am relatively new to the genre. So, I scoured my personal musical stash and searched the internet for artists similar to the ones I've already mentioned and I found MitiS. I feel like I hit the jackpot, actually. :D
The track above is from the June 2012 album, "Influential Past." As far as dubstep goes, it's a pretty uplifting track. I love dark music as much as the next guy, but I appreciate a little levity, too. So, I think this track is just perfect for ringing in the weekend. :P Interestingly, MitiS started out as a classical pianist in Pennsylvania. Somewhere down the line, he became inspired to produce electronic music and he's been doing just that for the last two or so years. There have been six releases since 2011.
MitiS's latest release is the "Elixir" single from July 2012. You can check that out below. According to MitiS, "I just wanna share good music, have it be through performance or a small, simple social setting. Music is what I do, I wouldn't change that for anything. Have it be a Chopin piece playing in a hall, or a dirty bass kickin' the club's ass, I'm down for either..." Right on. I can go along with that. :D
This guy is just amazing and I'm happy to add him to my growing list of favorites in the dubstep genre. Check out the MitiS SoundCloud page for additional tracks and downloads. Happy Friday!
