Happy Friday! This is a favorite from Dan Snaith's early career as Manitoba. It's from the 2003 album, "Up In Flames." A year later, Snaith had to change the band name to Caribou, with which you are probably more familiar. ;) Anyway, the track has a beautiful dreamy quality that I just love. Check it out!
Born and raised in Dundas, Ontario, Snaith has a knack for producing cerebral tunes that harbor a child-like inquisitiveness. At times, his music is very similar to that of Japanese band, Lullatone.
He hasn't released a new album as Caribou since "Swim" (2010). However, under the pseudonym, Daphni, Snaith put out the "Jialong" album in 2012. It's a collection of rather experimental tunes, very different from the songs produced as Manitoba and Caribou. You can listen to Track 6 below!
It's pretty crazy, but in a good way, right? The entire album is really out there. I highly recommend listening to the rest! Be sure to check out Caribou on Facebook! Happy Friday! ^_^
