Based in the UK, Letherette is the creation of Andy Harbor and Richard Roberts. Although the group has been known to dabble in multiple genres, its productions in underground hip hop shine and sparkle like the refracted sunlight on the bottom of a pool. I remember lazy summers at the pool when I was younger. I'd stare at that refracted sunlight and just zone out...go somewhere else in my mind. Travel without moving.
In the same vein, I feel like I could listen to Letherette on repeat from now until the end of my days. Their music is incredibly chill, contemplative and tangy just like freshly squeezed orange juice. Perfect, cerebral headphone tunes. The track above is featured in Future Sounds of Jazz Volume 12 (2012) and it is B1 on the Letherette EP (2010). Enjoy!
