Yeah, I know. It's only Thursday, but tomorrow will be Friday and soon the weekend will be upon us! So hang in there! Today's track is from Jori Hulkkonen's 2009 album of the same title, "Man From Earth."
Born in Finland, Hulkkonen discovered Detroit techno in the 80's and became enamored with electronic music. He also became influenced by 80's legends like Depeche Mode and The Smiths. As a result, his musical style has a rather dark, retro flare. Hulkonnen released his first techno album in 1996.
Since then, his style has evolved and, as you can see from the track above, Hulkkonen's definitely found his groove. Hulkonnen's latest release is "Jori Hulkonnen As Third Culture" (2012), a collection of house, tech-house, synth pop and techno. You can listen to Track 4 from the album below.
It's so dark and gritty. F*cking love it, man. So, so good. Check out Hulkonnen's SoundCloud page for additional tracks. It'll be the best in electro house all week long, so come on back!
