When I think of Ian Pooley, I immediately recall his upbeat, jazzy house classics from the late 90s. I had discovered his music (particularly the Meridian album) in that era and I remember listening to his tracks over and over. Even now, those retro classics put a my smile on my face when I listen to them.
Today's track is vastly different from the soulful deep house Ian Pooley has produced in the past, but it also happens to be a fantastic tech-house tune :D It appears on the "In Other Words" EP (2009).
Born and raised in Germany, Pooley quickly made a name of himself with the release of the "Meridian" (1998) and "Since Then" (2000) albums. This led to the creation of his own record label, Pooledmusic, in 2003. In 2013, Pooley released the "What I Do" album under the Pooledmusic label.
Track 11 is one of my favorites from the What I Do album, mainly because it is most reminiscent of the Ian Pooley I utterly adored in the 90s. His music has certainly evolved quite a bit, but he's still moving in a good direction. =) Pooley updates his Facebook page regularly, so be sure to check that out!
