So stoked to introduce Charlie Yin of Giraffage. When I first heard his debut album, "Comfort" (2011), it just blew me away. I became utterly obsessed with this dude. I have to see him perform live before I die. I just HAVE to! (T_T) Here is a favorite from the self-released Comfort album, called "Visible."
Based in San Francisco, Yin is relatively new to the music scene, but he is making waves. Currently, he is busy playing shows in New York and California. He only has a handful of releases, so far. There's the "Pretty Things" EP from May 2011; a collaboration with XXYYXX called "Even Though" from April 2012; and a new album from February 2013 called, "Needs." I'm pretty sure I've listened to the Needs album more than 20 times since it came out. It's phenomenal from start to finish.
This is Track 7 from the Needs album. So freakin' good, right? According to Yin, "I went through the worst time of my life and also the best time of my life while writing the songs for this album."
