Oh, hello there! ;D This week's hip hop journey is going to be a good one. I guarantee it! :D Today, I'm starting things off with an instrumental chill hop track by Evil Needle. This is Track 1 from the Sunrise Blend compilation of August 2011.
Originally from Germany and bilingual in both German and French, Evil Needle became heavily influenced by 90's hip hop. He began teaching himself the craft of spinning records in 2000 and it was pretty rocky, since on-line tutorials were not as prevalent back then as they are today. He eventually gave up on that when he realized that he would much rather create music than be a DJ.
Hence, Evil Needle started making beats on Fruity Loops and, when he found his groove, he switched to Reason, which he still uses today. As you can see from the track below, Evil Needle eventually made a name for himself by creating soulful, fresh and deep hip hop beats. :D He now resides in France.
Evil Needle put out his first production, "Dilla Beats" in 2006. Thereafter, he went on to release several more EPs. His latest release is the "Equilibrium" EP of June 2012. You can listen to snippets of Equilibrium below. It's so freakin' good, you guys! Gotta buy this!
