Ahhh. Man, I remember when I first heard "My Technique" on DJ Dan's Beats 4 Freaks CD back in the day. F*cking love it! I wore out that CD in my car like no one's business. Hey, remember when cars had CD players? Haha. Do they still have those in cars? I haven't had one in forever. It's all mp3s now and my iPod hook-up. Anyway, this track is a most welcomed blast from the past for me.
DJ Technique is Dan Harmon of Hampshire, England. Apparently, he started recording and writing electronic music when he was eight years old. Kinda crazy. The track above is from his first ever vinyl release in 1997. It's a doozy! Unfortunately, Harmon hasn't produced tracks as DJ Technique since then. However, he has produced other tunes under different aliases. His latest release is a trance EP under the alias Mea Culpa and it's entitled "Losing Control" (2002).
Subsequent to the Losing Control EP, Harmon decided to take a break from producing music to focus on sound design and his family. It's not likely that we'll see anything else from Harmon any time soon. Still, I hope you enjoy the classic track above! He's left quite a legacy, IMO! You can check out more of his stuff on discogs. Enjoy and Happy Friday!
