This is one of my favorite tunes from Norwegian indie band, Datarock. It's a wildly popular and instantly recognizable track from their 2005 debut album, "Datarock Datarock." Check it out! :DDD
The group (Fredrik Saroea, Ketil Mosnes, Tom Mæland and Kevin O'Brien) formed the band while attending an outdoor music festival in Bergen, Norway. It didn't take long for the band to be picked up by Tellé Records and soon they were paired with greats like Royksopp and the Kings Of Convenience. They released a couple of EPs on the Tellé label, including the debut EP, "Datarock/Stockhaus" (2001).
Bandmates, O'Brien and Mæland, ended up leaving the group sometime between 2000 and 2003. In 2004, Saroea and Mosnes formed their own major label called, "Young Aspiring Professional" (YAP Records) and the next year they released their debut album, "Datarock Datarock." With the success of that album, they embarked on a 4 year non-stop global tour and it has been full steam ahead since.
To date, the group produced an additional two albums and a slew of singles and EPs. Their latest album is a collection of remixes called, "Mixed Up" (2000) and their latest single is a collaboration with Junkie XL from 2012 called "Gloria." Enjoy and be sure to check these guys out on Facebook!
