The weekend is almost here! Hang in there, bros! Here's a fantastic track that will get you bumpin' and hopefully help time go by just a little bit faster, today. It's from Danny Howells' "Dig Deeper | Phase One" album (2011). This track is delightfully bass heavy and the vocals are both on point and appropriately sparse. You'll definitely want to give this a listen!
Born and raised in South East England, Howells has been active in the house music scene since the 80s. Apparently, he was off to a good start, because he caught the attention of John Digweed in the early 90s. Howells went on to open for Digweed at the Bedrock club for nine years. Not a bad gig!
In the late 90s, Howells took at a stab at producing experimental techno and this work earned him a substantial fan base. As you can imagine, Howells' music has evolved over the years from deep trance and progressive house to deep house and tech house. His latest release is a collaboration with Daniel Dubb called "Bring Em Back" from May 2012. It's billed as a tech-house EP, but after listening to the first track, I would say it's partly deep disco house. I love it! Click here for a sampling!
I think Howells has something cooking for 2013, but there isn't much info about it, yet. All I know is that he may be producing a couple tracks for some compilations through EQ Recordings. To keep up with all the latest, check out Howells' Facebook and Soundcloud pages!
