I'm rounding off the week with this finale of a track from Cloud. (that is Cloud with a period, not to be confused with Swedish electronic music producer, Cloud). Cloud. has been producing soulful hip hop since the mid-2000's and the track above is Track 11 from his debut album "Ice Cream Cola [Redux]" (August 2008). I gotta say: This kid is ahead of his time. "Future hip hop" is an apt description/genre for Cloud.
His latest album is "Hunter 182" released in March 2012. I have as of yet to listen to that album. I'm excited to check it out. My favorite albums thus far are "40 oz" and "Self Law," both of which were released in 2009.
Cloud. has a knack for weaving the soulful Motown Sound into his tracks. I have a major (really, seriously ginormous) soft spot for jazz and soul from the 40's, 50's and 60's, so when I first became aware of Cloud., I instantly fell in love.
