LEFT: Aleksander Manfredi (Exile) and RIGHT: Johnson Barnes (Blu)
I'm ending the week with a fantastic tune from L.A. based hip hop producers Blu & Exile. Barnes and Manfredi became instant hits after the release of their debut album, "Below the Heavens" (2007). At that time, Manfredi had already been making waves in the hip hop music scene. The positive reviews and "Artist to Watch" accolades that Barnes received as a result of the debut album essentially marked the beginning of his music career.
Over the course of four years, Barnes and Manfredi collaborated with different artists to create separate albums and EPs. However, recently, they did come together to produce an EP, "Maybe One Day" (Fall 2012) and a second album entitled, "Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them" (Sep. 2012).
