I'm stoked to bring you one of my favorite tracks from Animal Collective! This is from the group's 2009 album, "Merriweather Post Pavilion." I know this band is pretty mainstream now, but all my picks can't be esoteric. Hehe. Anyway, I find this track perfect to come home and unwind to after a long, busy day.
Animal Collective is made up of David Portner, Noah Lennox, Josh Dibb, and Brian Weitz. They've been making music together for over a decade. Since 2000 the group released a whopping 12 albums and in some years, they've released more than one. I think the band's ambition and creativity certainly paid off as their music is well known and respected. Their style has been called psychedelic folk music and noise rock. As you may have noticed from the track above, these labels are not far off. :D
The group's latest album is, "Centipede Hz" (Aug. 2012). It consists of 14 tracks laden with experimental and psychedelic awesomeness. You can listen to Track 9 below!
