Hi hi hi! :DDD So, this is my first ever indie mix! It was challenging, to say the least. Probably more challenging than hip hop. This one starts out around 100 BPM and climbs to a steady 124 BPM. I wanted to create something thoughtful and beautiful; something to listen to while warming up with a rye whiskey and watching the snow fall. I have deep love for jazz and as much as I love jazzy hip hop, I didn't want to create a mix that was just one jazzy hip hop track after another. I love those mixes. I've heard a lot of them, but I wanted to do something a little different. I don't recall ever listening to a hip hop mix that incorporated unfiltered/remixed vintage jazz and doo-wop. So, I set out to create the kind of mix that I would want to hear and that I would listen to over and over again until the end of my days. This mix was a real challenge. I oscillated between Serato and vinyl much more than I normally do. Also, I experimented with manipulating the vinyl as well as exaggerated pitch. I wanted to learn new techniques, but tried not to go overboard. My main focus was to seamlessly incorporate jazz and hip hop. I wanted the transitions to feel as natural as a sunrise and sunset.
