This week's indie picks are going to be kaleidoscopic, but it'll be fun! I promise! :D I've got some quirky tunes, some deep, dark vibes and some lighthearted tracks queued up and ready to go. Speaking of deep, dark vibes, check out this week's featured artist, Trust! I had the distinct privilege of seeing the band play live in Portland for Music Fest Northwest and it was quite an experience. I had a fantastic time! Check out my previous blog post about Trust for some live video footage from the event!

Ugh. Yeah, I know. I kind of left things in a sad place with that last post. Haha. Sorry, man. That's how it is. Bands come and go all the time. If you're looking for a pick-me-up with this last track, though, well.. I have to apologize again. Hehe. It's pretty deep and contemplative, just how I like my atmospheric drum and bass. This is a fantastic tune from Daniil Vavilov of Russia. It's his first release from June 2010. Vavilov got started in 2009 by producing music for Atmopunk podcast. He released the track above about one year later on the DubKraft label. His first EP entitled, "Tenderness" came out in 2011 and it was very well received. In 2012, Vavilov released two more tracks, "Can't Get Enough" and "Nocturne." Of the two, I'd have to say Nocturne is my favorite. :D His latest contribution, however, deserves some special attention, because it is a completely free release! That's right! Vavilov's 21-track debut album came out in August 2013 and he made it free to download! So, you should totally grab that! You can listen to the full album below! That's it for now! I'm signing off! It will be indie, next week! Super stoked! Have a great weekend! ^_^ Happy Friday, bitches! :DDD Love, love, love this track by the late, great trio from Britain. This track is from the group's self-released debut album, "The Un-Calculated Some" (2003). After a short brush with fame stemming from the immense popularity of this track, the group eventually disappeared. It seems their subsequent releases were not as well received. Here's the last track they put out: Apparently, this single from 2003 failed to make a major dent in the UK record chart. *shrug* I think it's a great song and the drum and bass remixes are even better! Check out this gem from Total Science! This is so fresh! Love this jazzy remake! Man, someone seriously didn't know what the f*ck he was talking about. This group rocks! It's a real shame these guys aren't making music, anymore. |
