Happy Monday! :D I don't normally say that since I truly believe Mondays suck major balls and we should have three-day weekends. Haha. Today is different, though, thanks to this fantastic Chicken Lips remix of a reggae track by Mattafix. You'll find the original on the 2005 EP, "To And Fro." Mattafix is a pretty awesome duo. Marlon Roudette and Preetesh Hirjiwere produced music together from 2005 - 2010 and their sounds ranged from downtempo and ragga hip hop to electro and breaks. Also from the UK, Chicken Lips is known for breaks, electro and tech house. Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith released their debut breaks and disco house EP, "Git Back," in 1999. Since then, they have produced over two dozen singles and EPs and six albums. Check out their discography! It'll be the best in electro house and chiptunes all week! Lots coming up, so enjoy and stick around! Signing off with a super chill retro electro bump from Fabien Pianta of Feadz. This is the first track on Pianta's 2014 debut album called, "Instant Alpha." Needless to say, it's a rad album and worth a listen! Born and raised in France, Pianta started to produce electronic and hip hop music in the early 90s. In 1999, he met Mr. Oizo and shortly thereafter they produced Oizo's very successful album, Analog Worms Attack. In 2001, Pianta was invited to join the German electro record label, BPitch Control. That same year, he released his debut EP called, "High-B." Pianta went on to release an additional three EPs under the BPitch Control label. Several years later, Pianta teamed up with Uffie for a collaboration on his May 2005 Techno/Electro EP, "Forward 4." He produced Uffie's first single, Pop The Glock in late 2005 and the single caught the attention of the owner and founder of French electro record label, Ed Banger Records. Pianta signed on with Ed Banger Records alongside Uffie and together they produced her first five EPs from 2006 - 2010. As a result, both Pianta and Uffie enjoyed immense popularity in the international underground electronic music scene. Since then, Pianta has collaborated with myriad artists including, Justice. Finally, in early January 2014, Pianta released his debut album, "Instant Alpha." As you can imagine, it's jam packed with electro goodness. You can listen to Track 6 from Instant Alpha below. :D To keep up with his latest releases and tour dates, check out Feadz on Facebook and SoundCloud! Enjoy and have a fantastic weekend, folks! It'll be indie next week, so don't go too far! ;P |
