Song of the Day: Jazz Addixx - Hip Hop

This week, it's all about soulful hip hop! Today's featured band is the Jazz Addixx. This track is from the July 2007 album, "Oxygen Refreshed." The lyrics are so spot on. Check this out!

The Jazz Addixx consists primarily of MC Mudd from Chicago and DJ Ragz of Sacremento. The band's sound is characterized by old school vibes with a modern twist. As you probably noticed from the track above, you could easily regard the song as one from the mid-90's due to its palpable retro flavor.

It's unclear whether the band has any new releases in the works. From their Facebook page, it appears that they are busy playing shows and participating in DJ competitions. The duo's latest release is "Gorilla Fist Presents The Intermission Vol. 2" which is basically a collaboration among MC Mudd, DJ Ragz and ST/miC of Charlottesville, Virginia. I'm signing off with a supremely chill downtempo/deep house tune from Juilen Auger's 1998 debut album, "Synthèse." This is actually the first track off of that 13 track album. One hell of an opening, right? Auger means business! Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Originally from Paris, Auger's love affair with music started at the age of 14 when he learned to play the guitar. Later on, he played gigs with some hip hop bands and produced tracks for them. In the early 90s, Auger became heavily influenced by techno and house. However, by the time he put out his first single in 1997, he managed to cultivate these influences and create a totally unique sound. Auger's tracks are so rich and full of soul. He is definitely in a league of his own.

Auger's most recent projects include the "Imbroglios Part 3" EP (deep house/ambient) and the "Acid Test 07" 12 inch (acid house). Track A1 of Acid Test is incredible. Click here to listen. Song of the Day: Gramophonedzie - Brazilian (Deep House)

If this track doesn't make you want to shake your ass, then I don't think you have a soul. Yep. You're a dead man walking. Haha. Aww, come on. I kid. ;D Seriously, though. You need to get this track in your ears! This is Marko Miličević's May 2010 single, "Brazilian." Aptly named. Listen and you'll see why. ;P

As you may have gathered from his name, Miličević is from Serbia (Belgrade to be exact) and he r0x0r5 my s0x0r5. He's fairly new to the music scene as he started his career as a participant in the Irish Red Bull Music Academy in 2000. His first official release was the "Jackin' Beats Vol. 1" EP of March 2007. It's crazy good! Click here to get a taste! It only gets better from there, folks! :D

Miličević's latest releases include the single "Number One" and the "Boom!" EP both released this year. I'm diggin' the disco flare in the Number One track. Check it out below!
