Like a good book, this week's tracks will start off serene, then get messy and complicated and then end with a satisfying resolution. ;P Here is a wonderful track from Machinedrum to get us started. If you've never heard of Travis Stewart of Machinedrum, then I highly suggest you check out my previous blog posts about him to learn more. For a short bio and a couple more tracks, click here. To hear an indie track by Stewart that's off the beaten path, click here.

I'm ending a great week of hip hop with this chill track from Ruto. He's pretty elusive in that I can hardly find out a thing about this guy on the internet. All I know is that he is based in Vancouver and that he specializes in nu jazz and hip hop. I don't even think he has been signed to a record label. Ruto's definitely going places, though. As soon as I heard the track above, I just had to find everything else he had produced. He is surely one to keep your eye on. You can listen to his latest releases on his Youtube channel and you can check him out on his MySpace page as well. Have a great weekend! :D Happy Friday! Here's a new track from Andy Harbor and Richard Roberts's latest EP, "Featurette" (Nov. 2012). I've played many tracks from these guys in the past, so be sure to rummage through my previous posts with the "hip hop" tag to find more! Click here to read a short bio I put together in August 2012 and to hear some additional tracks. Oh and rejoice! The weekend is finally here! :P |
