Taking a little break from the weirdness, today. Hehe. Yes. Here is something more conventional and, dare I say, normal. :PPP Don't get too comfortable, though. I'll have you crying into your cereal with something dark and twisty, next week. >:]~ The ups and downs. I know. I'm a rollercoaster. Haha.
It happened to be a gorgeous day. Mid-60's and sunny. So, yeah, I was all smiles. :DDD Make no mistake, creepers were creepin' me (as always), but I did my best to just ignore them and try to act natural. It was tough, you guys. Hahaha. At any rate, I was super stoked to wear long socks. They're my favorite thing in the world. <3 The grey over the knee socks were brand new, as I had been holding on to them since acquiring them last winter. I just didn't get a chance to try them out until now, but they were well worth the wait. :D The tops slip down when I walk, unfortunately, so I'll have to fold them over until I can find a way to remedy the problem. I love the way the grey looks with the navy, though!
It had been quite a while since I last wore the navy pearl button dress. I don't really get excited about dresses. I have never been that kind of person. Show me a bow tie or a vest and I'll go nuts. Hehe. This dress is really special, though. I love the little aesthetic details and the matronly long sleeves. It's sophisticated, but understated. It's playful with a vintage quality, but it also feels modern. It's just one of those timeless pieces that I know I could wear at any point in my life and still feel like I've "got it."
Without the vintage tartan blazer, the outfit looks quite chic and formal. I wanted to have the best of both worlds, so I used the blazer to tone things down and make things a little less prim and proper. With the blazer on, I felt like I could waltz into an upscale pub and throw back a few whiskeys. Without it, I bet I could probably get away with crashing a wedding and grabbing one or two flutes of champagne. >;P
Just between you and me...I'd much prefer the whiskey. Hehe. ;) Happy Thanksgiving, guys! <3
