This outfit has a palpable vintage and rustic feel to it that I really like. The colors are soft and earthy and the textures in the maxi skirt, cream blouse and vest seem to make it appropriate for the 1960s - 1970s.
The cream cardigan is a new addition to my vintage collection. I got it from a local resale shop and it's super warm, cozy and perfect. It's from the 1960s and it's the first white cardigan that I have ever owned. I think I look ridiculous in white and so you'll notice that I don't wear that color often, but I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone a bit. Oh and I found the cardigan in the men's section, but honestly, as long as it fits, who cares? Haha. Plus, it was $12! I just couldn't help myself. :D
I'm in love with this dark almond corduroy maxi skirt! It was called the "In Close Corduroys Skirt" on ModCloth and it was one of those items that I just had to have as soon as I saw it. The floral blouse from TIL Darling and the vintage corduroy vest seemed like they were made to be worn with this skirt. Soon after I had put everything on, I felt like I did something right. I don't feel that too often! Haha. :P
I'm happy to finally have an opportunity to wear this corduroy vest. It's gorgeous! I purchased it earlier in the year, but struggled with how to wear it. I hope I did it justice! If you want to see what the shop looks like and whatnot, just click here. :D I really dig the subtle chevron pattern in the corduroy skirt, the florals in the sleeves of my sheer blouse and vest, and the filigree pattern in my necklace. For anyone that is hopelessly and/or annoyingly detail oriented (*raises hand* - guilty! hehe), this outfit should be a real treat!
