I'm Leaving The Country! Buy Some Stuff! :DDD

Sooooo, yeah. I'm not going to be living in the United States for very much longer. I've finally found a way to live in another country and I can hardly believe it, to be honest. Heh. I mean, it's one thing to hope and dream for something to happen and it's quite another for those hopes and dreams to actually come to fruition. I sort of feel like I won the lottery. o_O I know that this is something that not everyone gets to do in their lifetime. I've barely traveled the world, as it is. I lived in Japan for a year and that's basically it. I mean, I've visited other parts of the world, but for just a few days or a couple of weeks. So, this move is a really big deal to me. It's exciting and scary. I'm super grateful for this opportunity to grow.

We're in the process of packing and figuring out what to bring and what to sell or donate. As a result, I'm having a sale in both of my shops to help clear things out once and for all (and help defray the cost of moving). With regard to my Storenvy shop, that will close indefinitely on May 26. Anything from that shop which doesn't sell will be donated to charity or go up for auction on eBay. So, get what you can!

As for my Etsy shop, it will close temporarily on May 26 and re-open once I've settled into my new home. So, if you are a U.S. customer, now would be the time to take a look around and see if there's anything you'd like to add to your collection of vintage awesomeness, because international shipping rates will apply after June 1, 2017. As always, I'm happy to combine orders from both shops. Just leave a comment here or reach out through my contact page and we can work something out. No worries! :P

Naturally, some of you may be wondering about the future of my blog. I'm also wondering about it, myself. Hehe. I'll continue to post outfits through the end of May, but I'll be going dark after that and I don't know when I will return. It's just one of those things, you know? This is a huge life change for me and it's going to be really overwhelming. The dust will settle eventually, but I can't say when that will be.

What I can tell you is that I'll likely be active on Instagram. So, if you're ever curious about what I've been up to in the interim, that's a good place to check. I'll try my best to keep up with your blogs, also!
I know I've been absolutely terrible about that, but hopefully you'll understand, given recent events. ;)

Thank you so much for reading my blog, for supporting me, for being my friend and caring about me and for making me feel good about myself. It's nice to feel like you're doing something good every now and again. You guys give me those feels all the time and I'm super grateful. I really am. <3 <3 <3

How To Wear A Dress Multiple Ways (Part 2)

Heyooooooooooo! :D Haven't done a style advice post in awhile (probably because I don't really believe I'm all that qualified to give advice about such a thing hehe). At any rate, I've had some bouts of genius in the past and I thought now would be a good time to share some fun style ideas for dresses.

By the way, you can click on any of the photos below and they will take you to their original posts. :P

The easiest dresses to work with are the ones made up of solid colors and for obvious reason. You can do some very effective color blocking with solid colored dresses and it's a lot easier to throw patterns in the mix without having to worry about undue clashing. In this post, however, I'm prioritizing dresses with patterns, because I think most people would be tempted to wear such dresses in just one or two kinds of ways. I wanted to show that you can squeeze out a lot of wear from a patterned dress, if you use just a little imagination (and you're willing to be flexible and do some arguably strange things hehe).

The first photo shows the classic look, but with a twist. I added some bright accessories and sneakers (as opposed to mary janes or some other dress shoes) to create a quirky, casual look out of a rather chic dress. From there, think about wearing the same dress with shortalls/overalls or tucking it into a patterned skirt for some expert level pattern mixing. I always say, at the very least, a dress is two garments: it's a top and a bottom. So, it's a great investment, if you know how to make the most of it!

Same principles here. There's the classic look with a twist (frilly skirt underneath to add a textured hem and some rather out-of-the-ordinary vintage style booties). You'll find the classic skirt/dress combo and then there's the less common pants/dress combo. Not all dresses work in the latter circumstance, but it's awesome when you find the right ones. Click here for tips on pants/dress or shorts/dress combos.

Try wearing two dresses! Yes, that's right. :D This isn't something that even remotely crosses the minds of most people, but that makes sense. Hehe. I mean, wearing one dress is usually enough for a majority of people. Why even bother bringing two into the mix? Well, as you can see, there are times when two dresses can be used to create some really beautiful, eye-catching and totally unique looks.

So, if you're the kind of person who has a ton of dresses in the closet and you're sick of always wearing a dress in one particular way, but with different accessories, then I hope this post gives you some useful inspiration. By wearing dresses unconventionally, you end up adding multiple outfits to your closet without having to actually buy anything new. You can use what you already have and that's exciting! <3
