Ah, yes. I was wondering when I was going to end up having my photo taken whilst getting snowed on.
I feel like I've always had at least one of these experiences since I became inducted into the pastime of winter fashion blogging. >_< Hehe. It's not ideal, but I always try to laugh and smile through it. ^_^

I resisted the urge to wear predominately black outfits for awhile, but I gave in, this time around. Lame. To make up for this moment of weakness, I donned an orange hat and bright turquoise scarf. I figured the bright colors would please and amuse most onlookers, though I saved the best distraction for last.

Bam! w00t! Yeah, how you like me, now? Have a carrot, Winter! Have alllll the carrots. >:P~ Haha. <3 One of my favorite things is walking into a room, taking off my coat and seeing the heads turn. I don't think anyone would have guessed that dozens of rabbits and carrots were nestled underneath my coat.

It was love at first sight when I found this rabbit sweater. As soon as I saw it, I just had to have it. <3
If pudgy little rabbits with squishy fat butts don't bring you joy, then I don't know what will. :P~

Oftentimes, it's difficult for me to find any jubilation in the winter. I get no satisfaction from the constant threat of wiping out on a sheet of ice perfectly concealed under a bed of fresh snow. Yep. Nice one, Gaia! You got skills. Nor do I enjoy being able to see out of only one eye, because the other one is spouting frozen tears. Have you ever had your eye lashes fuse together with ice? It sucks, you guys.
I could go on. Winter is full of unspeakable horrors. Hehe. So, I will take whatever joy I can get! :P

So far, I've managed to keep myself incredibly busy and I don't see much respite in the near future. Hehe. Being a teacher is so incredibly demanding and this realization is coming from someone who is used to working under high stress conditions as a lawyer. Perhaps I got lucky, since I was able to essentially leave my work at the office, when I was a judicial law clerk. There was a clear separation between work and home. I actually had time to myself every evening and, unless there was a big case, the same was usually true on the weekends. Not so with teaching, though. My work is never done.

I've only been teaching for the past year, but it didn't take me long to appreciate the work that teachers do. Teachers are so under appreciated. They really are. The best teachers are the ones who are prepared. Hours of preparation is required for each lesson they teach and they are not compensated for those hours. They're only compensated for the time that they spend in the classroom. Even a lawyer is compensated by the hour for her time researching, drafting, making phone calls. I can't imagine being compensated solely for time spent in the court room. The thought is crazy, right? Teachers don't get billable hours. Hehe. So, yeah. It has been quite an adjustment. I was so busy on Friday that I didn't give a single thought to my hobby--my creative outlet and stress reliever. Hence, the dark skies.

I was holed up in a coffee shop, wildly hammering out a lesson on my laptop and blasting drum and bass through noise cancellation headphones. My task was to come up with interesting ways to help international law students understand the inner workings of the lender-borrower relationship; the consequences for default and remedies available to priority lenders. Dry stuff, am I right? Haha. The hardest part of teaching is figuring out how to make each lesson engaging, relevant and meaningful.

I was so caught up in that endeavor that I didn't notice the sun's descent. >_< Hehe. These photos were taken in a rush, I'm afraid. So, I apologize, if it's difficult to make out what I've got on. Do I look cold and tired and hungry? Well, I was all those things! Haha. I still managed to look cute, though, right? ;P~

Anyway, I've always been a bit of a work-a-holic and old habits die hard. If I'm not busy, I feel useless.
I like having problems to solve. The more complex, the better. That being said, a tired and hungry brain is of no use to anyone. Right now, my brain is hungry for pizza and beer. Haha. See you, next time! <3
